Some of these comments are ridiculous. My kid has this, and I can assure you it isn’t shyness, ignorance, or misbehavior. It’s made her life very difficult and still does even though she’s doing a lot better than she did this time last year. I can’t even type a proper rant about it to try and make the I Served My Country What Did You Do Us Army Shirt understand, just know it’s horrible for them to live with, a daily battle for so much (to be understood, show teachers you’re not actually behind, make friends, make an emergency phone call, etc). It can be devastating for them, and it’s heartbreaking to watch as there’s only so much you can do to help. I sincerely hope that none of the Neanderthal commenters have children or end up with grandkids with this, or heaven forbid anything else challenging.

I am horrified by so many of these rude and thoughtless comments. The I Served My Country What Did You Do Us Army Shirt is alarming. Many people are making judgments on a recognized condition they clearly know nothing about. Perhaps you should educate yourselves before choosing to ridicule somebody for something they have struggled with their whole life. Let’s hope selective mutism doesn’t affect somebody you care about if this is the response they can expect from the world.

Okay, she feels so uncomfortable when her grandfather is around but somehow her parents still forced her to stay in his house over and over again. Even described the I Served My Country What Did You Do Us Army Shirt  as miserable and very dramatic but still, made her do it. This is a classic form of abuse. It doesn’t help that the name of the condition gives the impression that it is something they choose to do… rather than something that they have no control over… Maybe changing the name to ‘forced, partial mutism’ or something would improve some of the responses?
